4/10/2023 0 Comments Canon rebel backup camera![]() ![]() With the ability to experiment with manual controls, but fall back on being fully automatic, the Rebel gave users the best of both worlds. With a lighter high impact plastic case and aluminum exoskeleton, the Rebel would appeal to budget-conscious photographers who didn’t need the high-performance features of the EOS 1, but who wanted to grow past the simple point-and-shoot designs like the Canon Sure Shot. The Rebel had a lot to live up to, considering the Canon AE-1 was one of the best-selling models in history. The original Canon EOS Rebel aimed to deliver high-end quality at entry-level prices. Users could let the camera choose shutter speed, aperture, and even film speed (then known as ASA), or they could choose aperture or shutter priority and let the AE-1 do the rest. Being the first camera to have a computer chip designed into it, the AE-1 was capable of being completely automatic, or completely manual. ![]() The Canon AE-1 had dominated the entry-level SLR market since it was introduced in 1976. The first Canon EOS Rebel had the spirit of the iconic Canon AE-1, but with autofocus. That was what the Rebel line was designed to do, and it made the transition not only easy, it was downright fun. Canon sought to lure shutterbugs who used pocket cameras like the SureShot, as well as old school manual users who refused to give up their vintage camera bodies and get them into an autofocus SLR camera. With the EOS system becoming very popular with serious photographers, and even professionals wanting to take advantage of the high-speed autofocus lenses, there was still a wide-open entry-level market to take advantage of. Canon would often innovate and put new features in their higher-end and professional models, and then a few years later, seed those innovations to the more affordable consumer-grade cameras to keep the platform growing. This body is in EXCELLENT Condition! I have a handful of these, all in great condition, tested and working PERFECTLY! If you have ANY problems, or find it’s not as described, I’ll take it back for for a full refund! This ships as shown, with a body cap, but without a strap or battery.Once its dominance in autofocus was secured, Canon began to look for an entry-level system to lure shutterbugs into getting more serious with the hobby, and the Rebel system was born. (Again, if you need a built in flash, check out the "Rebel S". If you're shooting outdoors where you typically do not need a flash, this is an inexpensive and slightly lighter camera as compared to a camera with built in flash. There IS a 'hot shoe for attaching an external flash. We also have the Rebel S for sale, which DOES have a flash. Note this model does NOT have a built in flash. Also handy for switching between Print and Slide film. ![]() Since both are Canon EOS cameras, I use the same lenses, choosing the body based on whether I want prints or slides. For instance, I sometimes carry two bodies - one loaded with color film, and the other with black & white film. If you need to replace your dead Canon EOS film camera, and still have the lenses, this is the way to go and AFFORDABLE ! Also great as a back up body, and convenient if you want to shoot two different types of film on the same day. Here is an EXCELLENT Canon EOS Rebel FILM Camera body only, with no lens. ![]() Great for Photography Class, a Back Up/Spare, or Replacement Body. BEAUTIFUL Condition FILM Canon EOS Rebel 35mm SLR Body (No lens is included) ![]()
